New President

LIGA, Democratic League of Independent Trade Unions from Hungary at the meeting of the LIGA Council on 26 May 2016, elected Ms. Melinda Dr. Doszpolyné Mészáros as a new president with 72,5% of the votes. Ms Mészáros'''' mandate as a president is until December 2017 when the next Ordinary LIGA Congress will be held. Ms Mészáros is coming from the Defence Workers'''' Trade Union. She has a legal background and she has been appointed as secretary general of LIGA since March 2014. She is the first woman who has ever been elected as a president of a trade union confederation in Hungary.
